The task at hand

  • Leading a track includes nagging people you know who are capable of giving good talks.
  • Locating more people outside the current "community".
  • Making sure there are enough good talks.
  • Deciding which talks to accept and which not to.
  • Making sure that the speakers know what to expect from the conference and the facilities.

Tracks and people who are responsible for the main tracks

Including ideas for talks

  • Perl -- Szabgab but I won't mind if someone took it over from me
  • Python
  • PHP
  • Ruby + Rails -- dorkalev
  • Version Control Systems (Subversion, etc.)
  • Kernel and Virtualisation
  • Applications and Automating applications
    • Introductions to GIMP
    • OO.org
    • Firefox hacks ( I would like to hear the talk of Thomas that we missed -- Szabgab)
  • Open-Source Usability and the FOSS community (needs better name. What I had in mind: the Ben Yehuda project, other community efforts)

While the focus of the conference is developers (both who develop FOSS and thos who use FOSS for development) I belive that learning about various applications and especially how to automate them can also included. -- Szabgab
